Local Governing Committee

Rawlins is one of ten constituent academies within Embrace Multi Academy Trust, which formed on 1 April 2019.

Each academy in the trust has a local governing committee. View the Rawlins Governance Information 2025-26 and Embrace Scheme of Delegation.

The governing committee is a group of volunteers from many different backgrounds who are interested in the education of young people and how the academy is run, and who want to have a positive impact upon the academy.

The committee has three core strategic functions:

  • Ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction – helping to shape and safeguard the Christian vision and values of the school, and guiding its long-term development
  • Holding the Principal to account – monitoring the educational performance of the school and its students, as well as supporting and challenging the performance management of staff
  • Overseeing financial performance – ensuring that the school’s budget is well managed, that resources are used efficiently, and that public money is spent wisely for the benefit of all students
