We are writing to make parents and carers aware of an issue that has recently come to our attention regarding the use of the contract school bus.
A small number of students have been travelling on this service without being eligible to do so. This has included the use of photocopied bus passes and, in some cases, passes that belong to other students.  As the S318 is a contracted service with limited capacity, only students who have been formally allocated a place by the Local Authority are permitted to travel.
To ensure the safety and fairness of the service for all students, the Local Authority will be carrying out more frequent checks of bus passes.  Any student found to be travelling without a valid pass will not be allowed to board the bus and parents will be contacted.
We want to emphasise that the vast majority of our students behave responsibly and follow the correct procedures every day.  We are grateful for your continued support in reinforcing these expectations and helping us maintain a safe and well-organised transport service.
If you believe your child should have access to the S318 or if you have any questions, please contact School Transport at County Hall.

  • Our online contact form is available on our website which also has useful information which may answer your question. If you wish to submit an enquiry, the contact form can be found on our web pages: School Transport Information and Contact Form
  • If your child is currently travelling on school transport and you wish to report an issue or concern with the operation of the transport service, please use this form:
