Skills for Learning and The Base
Our specialist provisions at Rawlins are Skills for Learning (cognition and learning) and The Base (communication and interaction).
Our provisions combine tailored support for individual student needs with the life skills benefit of being part a mainstream environment. Students in Skills for Learning (SFL)and the Base follow the mainstream curriculum mirroring and adapting to individual student needs alongside preparing students for future life. Students in The Base access mainstream classes with support. SFL students are taught in small groups with support. This provides a successful all-round educational experience that blends academic, vocational and life skills (PfA).
We are ambitious for all of our students and work with them and their families to develop academic, vocational and life skills opportunities for further education and careers.

Admissions
Please be aware that the Admissions process for SFL and The Base is different to the Admissions process for mainstream Rawlins. To gain a place in either SFL or The Base, your child must have an EHCP that states that a special provision is needed to meet their needs. Please contact SENA if you require clarification.
