KS4 Options

This information is here to support you to act wisely and make the most of every opportunity when choosing the best subjects for you.
Note: Students in Skills for Learning (SFL) should liaise directly with the SFL Leaders to discuss their option choices. 

We have a range of virtual resources to watch and read to support your KS4 Options process and choose subjects that will:

  • Enable you to build success
  • Inspire hope so you enjoy your learning experiences
  • Empower you to shape the future and take the next step along your learning journey, whether into further education or employment

Submitting your online form

To submit your KS4 Options, you must complete the following online form (Click link below).

You will be asked to choose:
– 1x EBACC subject
– Any 2x OTHER subjects
– 2x Reserve Subjects (1x EBACC and 1x OTHER)

Why do we ask for Reserve Subjects?
We create the timetable around your option choices and each year we can normally make ~95% of everyone’s first choice option combinations work together. However, we need to ask for a reserve in case we are unable to make your first choice KS4 Option combinations work with everyone else, or on the rare occasion the subject is very popular and the class(es) are full.

We confirm all students option choices in the summer term at the End of June, when the timetable and any necessary staffing arrangements are secured.

The deadline for your KS4 Options completion is 9:00am on Monday, 2 February 2026.

Supporting resources

During the Parent Feedback at the end of last Academic Year Parents asked for more Face-to-Face opportunities. As a direct result the Options Evening Presentation will this year be given in the school Theatre, on Thursday, 19 January 2026 @ 6:00pm.

Video Note1: The process remains the same as shown in 2024, but please see the revised dates above for the 2026 deadline.
Video Note2: Average KS2 Standardised Scores (SS), visible in the same place as shown on the Students Go4Schools profile page, will be used for pathway guidance in 2026.

The updated KS4 Options Handbook can be seen below.  The Virtual Subject Guide Videos (click the drop down links below) have been put together by our Subject leaders and Key members of staff, to provide you with all the information about every subject, to support you with finalising your KS4 Options choices.

Both the KS4 Options Handbook and the Subject Video guides below, allow you to find out about every subject in your own time. So please do read and watch all of our Virtual Subject Guides, and make contact with your Tutor, Teacher or Subject Leader if you need further help, so you can act wisely and make the most of every opportunity.
